Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh increased
Bangladesh Violence News: Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Tuesday that the attacks on Hindus in the country are not a communal matter but a ‘conspiracy’ to malign the country’s image. He said investigators are trying to gather clues and soon the perpetrators will be nabbed. Talking to a news channel, Khan said that the Awami League government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will take strict action against all those hiding behind this conspiracy.
At least six people have died in attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh that have been going on for more than a decade. Violence started again here on Friday after a Facebook post went viral. A Durga Puja pandal in Comilla town was attacked by some people (Attack on Hindu Temple). After which the minority group of the country is protesting on a large scale. A riot-like situation arose in the country and many other temples and houses of Hindus were also vandalised. The authorities have so far registered 71 cases in the violence. While 450 suspected criminals have been arrested.
Government will find out more evidence
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said, ‘We condemn such incidents during Durga Puja in Bangladesh. This has never happened before because people celebrate all the festivals here with joy (Bangladesh Violence Durga Puja). Why this happened suddenly is a matter of concern. We have got many clues and they all point towards a conspiracy to malign Bangladesh. I want to make it clear that we will take strict action against anyone who is behind this heinous conspiracy. Things will become clear in a day or two as we will gather some more clues and find out the conspirators behind this.
long-standing communal tension
The communal tension in Bangladesh has been going on for a long time. Here the population of Hindus is about 10 percent. Several Awami League leaders have accused the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its ally Jamaat-e-Islami of violence, citing the 2023 elections (Bangladesh Violence Durga Puja). Khan said, “It is too early to make such comments, but till we do not nab the main conspirators, we cannot rule out anything.” According to (investigation), it is not a communal matter but a pre-planned plan by some miscreants. This was not the handiwork of any religious group, but it is a conspiracy of those who do not want Bangladesh to develop.
What did the Home Minister say about India?
Khan said that the government has also sought cooperation from social media company Facebook in the investigation. He said, ‘We have come to know that such propaganda is mostly from America and England.’ Asked whether he had held talks with his Indian counterpart Amit Shah on the issue, Khan said it was an “internal matter” of Bangladesh. He said, ‘This is our internal matter (Bangladesh Violence Latest News). If India wants to know anything, we will certainly inform them through proper diplomatic channels. No one has asked anything in this matter so far. All I can say is that the situation is under control as we have arrested hundreds of people after the incident.
