Ford Motor Company seems to be in a mood to make a comeback considering the growth of the Indian auto industry. In the last few months, it was heard that the company had refused to sell its Chennai-based plant to JSW Group. Not only this, Ford has also filed trademarks for two new cars, which include the names of Ford Endeavor and Mach-E electric car. And now there is a new thing which confirms its return, that is the appearance of Ford's new vehicle in India.
Ford Endeavor and the new Ford Ranger were recently spotted in India. Ford Ranger pickup has been spotted in Chennai. Some things were found common in both Ranger and Endeavour. These include ladder-on-frame chassis, some design parts and interior. Once launched in the Indian market, Ford Endeavor will compete with pickup trucks like Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max.

The new generation Ford Ranger debuted in the global market in November 2021. Talking about style, it gets LED daytime running lamps, C-shaped LED headlamps, LED taillights. The Ranger name is embossed on the taillights.
Ford Ranger Engine
In the global market, Ford Ranger comes in many petrol and diesel engine options. This includes 2.0 liter diesel engine, 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine, 2.3 liter turbo-petrol engine and 3.0 liter V6 petrol engine, which generates power of 288 bhp. In its lower variants, the option of 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearbox is available. Whereas in its upper variants, the option of 10-speed automatic gearbox is given. The upper variants of this pickup vehicle have better chassis, off-roader gear and attractive design parts.
When will Ford vehicles arrive in the country?
It is expected that Ford Motor Company may introduce a 3-row SUV version of Endeavor in the Indian market. It can be introduced in the year 2025 i.e. in the next country. At the same time, some parts of Ford Ranger pickup may be similar to Endeavour. Also, Ford's upcoming electric car Mach-E will be an SUV, its design patent has already been leaked on the internet. However, no timeline has been revealed regarding its India entry.
What is the story of Ford?
It so happened that Ford's sales declined during the Covid pandemic. Due to this, Ford made preparations to leave India in September 2021. The company sold its Gujarat-based manufacturing plant to Tata Motors. But its Chennai-based plant, which the company earlier wanted to sell, is still with the company. Its deal was fixed with JSW Group, but it has been canceled by Ford. Ford's Chennai plant is built on 350 acres. About 1 lakh 50 thousand cars can be made here in a year.
The company's popular cars sold earlier in the Indian market include Ford Aspire, Ford EcoSport, Ford Escort, Ford Endeavour, Ford Fiesta, Ford Figo, Ford Freestyle and Ford Mustang.
