IRCTC will launch India’s first indigenous luxury cruise liner from September 18 and its booking can be done on its website. IRCTC in a statement earlier this week said that IRCTC has joined hands and signed an agreement with Cordelia Cruises, operated by M/s Waterways Leisure Tourism Pvt Ltd, for promotion and marketing of the first indigenous luxury cruise in India. This is yet another incredible luxury travel offering under IRCTC’s umbrella of tourism services to the masses.

IRCTC said that the guests on board the ship will have the experience of sailing to some of the best Indian and international destinations like Goa, Diu, Lakshadweep, Kochi and Sri Lanka.
The first leg of Cordelia Cruises will travel through Indian destinations with its base in Mumbai and the cruise will be shifted to Chennai from May next year. After this the cruise will be dispatched to Sri Lankan destinations like Colombo, Galle, Trincomalee and Jaffna. Mumbai-Goa-Mumbai, Mumbai-Diu-Mumbai, Mumbai-at Sea-Mumbai, Kochi-Lakshadweep-at Sea-Mumbai and Mumbai-at Sea-Lakshadweep-at Sea-Mumbai are some of the popular itineraries of Cordelia Cruises.
Corona protocol to be followed during cruise
IRCTC statement said that while traveling on Cordelia Cruise one can enjoy recreational activities like restaurant, swimming pool, bar, open cinema, theatre, kids area, gymnasium. Corona protocol will have to be followed during the cruise. Only those people will be able to board the cruise who will be fully vaccinated. The corona precaution issued by the government will be followed. A fully functional medical center will be available on board the cruise. All the medical facilities that are necessary will be there on the cruise. IRCTC is in talks with big international cruises for future trips to different places abroad. In the coming days, cruise facility can also be available for foreign excursions.
