Tibetan Snack Khapse Recipe
Khapse is a Tibetan / Sherpa biscuit that is traditionally prepared during the Tibetan / Sherpa New Year or Losar. Khapse is very easy to make. You can make it with simple ingredients like maida, milk and sugar. This recipe is very special for serving to your family and friends. You can serve it with tea and coffee. This easy to make snack is one of the best things to eat while planning a picnic and road trip. You can enjoy this recipe with friends and family.
Ingredients for Khapse
4 cups all purpose flour
6 tablespoons sugar
1 cup boiled water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup refined oil
Start making khapse by dissolving sugar in hot water in a small bowl. After this, put refined flour, milk and refined oil in a big pot. Then add the prepared water-sugar mixture to it. Mix all the ingredients well.
Knead the dough. After this, take a dough of flour and roll it like a roti. After this, cut it into a long shape with a knife. Cut into several pieces like this.
Now mix three pieces of this dough and knead it like a peak. It can be shaped by tweaking it from both the ends inwards.
After this take a deep bottom pan or kadhai, keep it on medium flame and heat refined oil in it. After the oil is heated, put the prepared khapse in the oil and fry it till it becomes golden. Take them out on Absorbing paper. You can garnish it with sesame seeds and serve it. This way snack snacks will be prepared.
