Today we have brought the same anecdote from our anecdote diary, why did Jitendra have to do this? What was the reason that made Jitendra himself buy tickets worth thousands of rupees? So let’s know.
Jitendra was wandering for work
This is the period when Jeetendra was trying to establish his foothold in Bollywood, that is, doing Struggle. In a show, actor Anu Kapoor had told that in that era, a name used to be very famous for behind the camera. He was Ravikant Nagaich. Ravikant Nagaich was a very successful cameraman of that era. While Jitendra was doing Struggle, Ravikant was trying to try his hand at directing. Ravikant had also prepared the script of a film. The name of the film was- ‘Farz’.
Ravikant was wandering at the doors of the famous actors of that era. Since this was Ravikant’s first film as a director, no actor wanted to take the risk of doing it. Ravikant would go to the actor’s door, he would only get to hear ‘No’ from there. After this, Jitendra somehow contacted Ravikant. Ravikant talked to Jitendra for this film. Jitendra was already wandering in search of work here and there. In such a situation, when Ravikant told him the script of the film, he did not take any time to say ‘yes’.
After Jitendra’s yes, the film work started and gradually the film reached its last stop. Both Jitendra and Ravikant had a desire that this film be a hit. When the film climbed into theaters it was badly beaten. After its release, the film’s box office performance began to look disappointing. After a few weeks, it became difficult to run the film in theaters.
This act of Jitendra made the film a super hit
Both Jitendra and Ravikant were very disappointed to see all this. Jitendra was doing Struggle, so he feared that if this thing spread in the market, he would not get an opportunity to do any further work. After this, Jitendra decided that he would buy the tickets of the film himself, so that there would be talk in the market that the film was going on. Jitendra had to spend five thousand rupees from his pocket to run the film. He himself had to buy his movie tickets.
He distributed this ticket to the people for free. The result of Jitendra’s decision was that after a few weeks there was a great jump in the box office collection of the film. Film Critics had already declared the film a flop, but Jeetendra’s action to buy tickets worth Rs 5000 was shown to be amazing that the film proved to be a superhit. After this, the line of those who worked with Jitendra and Ravikant was established.
