The number of air passengers in the month of October is 89.85 lakh.
The country’s aviation sector has reached near pre-Covid levels in terms of air traffic and will continue to grow. The officials said this on Thursday. The officials gave this information in a program organized to give information about Wings India-2022. This is an important event which is to be organized in Hyderabad from 24th to 27th March.
Air passengers at about 85 percent of pre-pandemic
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated the program. On this occasion, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Usha Padhi said that the situation is becoming almost normal and we have reached about 85 percent of the pre-pandemic.
71% jump in air passenger numbers in October
Here the number of domestic air passengers increased by 70.46 percent to 89.85 lakh in the month of October. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) gave this information on Thursday. According to DGCA data, 52.71 lakh passengers had traveled by domestic flights in the same month last year.
Most passengers traveled by Indigo
According to the data, the highest number of 48.07 lakh passengers traveled by airline IndiGo during October, which is 53.5 percent of the total passengers traveling domestically in October. In the last month, 10.61 lakh people traveled by air through Air India. Apart from this, 6.96 lakh passengers traveled by AirAsia India, 5.72 lakh passengers during October due to Tata-SEA joint venture expansion.
