…so the story begins
The story begins in the 1940s when the foundation of a small grocery store was laid in Paota, Rajasthan. It was started by the grandfather of Pansari Group’s Managing Director Shammi Agarwal. He named the shop Pansari’s shop. In 1960, due to some reasons, he had to shift to Kolkata.
There he started the wholesale business of mustard and sesame seeds. But alas, in the 1980s, this sesame business came to a standstill. Then he decided that because the business of seeds is risky. That’s why he will start the business of edible oil.
Then saw the dream of making a brand
In 1990, Shammi’s father started manufacturing edible oil by taking a factory on rent in Delhi. Gradually the group established itself from trading to manufacturing. With time the company earned a lot and thus by 2005 the company had 7 units in northern India. In the year 2010, Shammi joined his father’s business. It is said that new thinking gives new dimension to everything. Shammi dreamed of making Pansari Group a brand.
B2B made B2C
To turn this dream into reality, Shammi launched Pansari branded mustard oil. He made Business to Business (B2B) business to Business to Consumer (B2C). As a result, in the financial year 2010-11, the company recorded a revenue of Rs 180 crore. Since then, the fortunes of the Pansari Group, which started from a small grocery store in Rajasthan, changed. Pansari Group has become a well-known name in the FMCG sector today.
Export to more than 57 countries
The turnover of FMCG business of Pansari Group is more than Rs 1000 crore today. Since the year 2016, countless refined vegetable oils, rice, flour, spices, cereals, instant Indian food etc. are available in the market of this brand. At present, this company exports its products to more than 57 countries.
