The spokesman said that the proceedings in all cases of illegal entry into Dominica were withdrawn on 20 May. “Choksi is pleased that the government of Dominica has withdrawn all allegations of illegal entry in May 2021,” the spokesman said. By doing this he has recognized that there was never any case against him (Choksi). Choksi was forcibly evicted from Antigua against his will by agents of India. They were attacked and taken by boat to Dominica, where they were then illegally handed over to the authorities for a crime they had not committed.
Mehul Choksi will approach the court for human rights violation
The statement said that Choksi’s legal team will explore all possibilities of justice for human rights violations against his client. He had said, ‘Choksi hopes that all those involved in his kidnapping in Antigua on 23 May 2021 will be brought to justice.’ Choksi, 62, was granted bail by the High Court of Dominica in Antigua to be treated by a nervous system specialist on the condition that he would return after being declared fit by doctors to hear the case.
