BSF Seized Gold: BSF got great success on the Indo-Bangladesh border. BSF jawans succeeded in arresting two smugglers with gold worth around Rs 6.15 crore.

Gold worth about 6 crores seized from truck driver
According to the BSF statement, during the search, a large packet wrapped in black cloth was found from behind the driver’s seat inside the cabin of the truck. On opening the packet, 70 gold biscuits and three gold bars were recovered. The total value of the seized gold biscuit, bar and truck was estimated at Rs 5,98,54,165/-. Border Security Force personnel soon confiscated all the gold biscuits, bars and the truck and also took the truck driver into custody for questioning. The arrested truck driver has been identified as Raj Mandal, Age – 26 years, Father – Sirajul Mandal, Village – Joypur, Thana – Bangaon, District – North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
4 gold biscuits seized from motorcyclist
According to the BSF statement, in another incident, on May 23, at Border Outpost Jayantipur, 158 Corps personnel, during routine checking, stopped a suspected motorcyclist for a search, after which the smuggler had black colored clothes under the seat of the motorcycle. 4 biscuits wrapped in gold were recovered, weighing 466.62 grams. The arrested person has been identified as Marub Mandal, 36 years, father Amjad Mandal, village Jayantipur, police station Petrapole, District North 24 Parganas. During interrogation, the man revealed that he is an Indian national and he lives in the house beyond the cordoning off the border. The arrested persons have also revealed the names of some big smugglers whose names are Gaysuddin Mandal, Salahuddin Sheikh, Mohiuddin Sheikh. All the villagers are residents of Jayantipur. All of them live beyond the cordon.
Leave the path of smuggling and join the mainstream: Sarjit Singh Guleria
South Bengal Frontier Public Relations Officer and Senior DIG Surjit Singh Guleria expressed happiness over the achievement of the jawans. He said that the BSF has tightened the noose on every nefarious antics of the smugglers. The DIG has advised the smugglers that the remaining smugglers should leave the path of smuggling and join the mainstream, otherwise any nefarious intention will not be spared. The officer said in clear words that nothing can hide from the eyes of his soldiers. He also said that he also has an excellent team to give accurate information related to smuggling, which keeps a close watch on the criminal activities taking place in the border area.
