Raveena Biswas, a resident of West Bengal, was having pain on the left side of her stomach for several days. But the problem could not be found. Got treatment at many places but there was no benefit. The girl’s condition was continuously deteriorating and the pain was increasing. He was taken to some hospitals in West Bengal, but was not getting any relief. In such a situation, the patient’s family brought him to Greater Noida. Here Raveena was admitted to Sharda Hospital. Examination of X-ray and CT scan revealed that Raveena had a 13 cm tumor above the kidney which had spread to the surrounding nerves.
The size of this tumor was very large and it could damage the kidney also. In such a situation, Professor Ravi Kale of Sharda Hospital performed surgery on Raveena and gave her a new life.
The surgery was very difficult
Dr. Ravi Kale said that the causes of this tumor are unknown. Such tumors occur in the chest, neck and lower part of the skull, but in this case there was a very large tumor above the kidney. There were many challenges in the initial treatment of patient Raveena but with the help of our team we successfully performed this surgery. This surgery lasted for about 6 hours. During this period many things were kept in mind. Since the tumor was around the nerves, surgery was performed to save the nerves.
Not every tumor is cancer
Dr. Kale explains that not every tumor is cancer. In this case there was no cancer of any kind in the tumor. Although this tumor was quite big. If it was not removed by surgery on time, the girl’s life could have been in danger. Dr. Kale says that at the beginning of any tumor, many other symptoms start appearing along with pain in the body, but the tumors which are inside the body are not easily detected. Gradually the size of these tumors keeps increasing and one day it becomes very big. Such a situation can be fatal.
