Doctors also did a CT scan of the girl and the exact location of her locket was known, but in the meanwhile, the girl’s parents had a big question in their mind as to how the locket was found. Because usually doctors do surgery in such problems, but the age of the girl was very young. Because of this, surgery can be dangerous.
How did the locket turn out?
Gastrologist Dr. Keerthi Reddy said that due to her young age, surgery on the girl could have posed a lot of risk. In such a situation, endoscopy was used to remove the locket. The locket was removed from the child’s stomach through endoscopy. Dr. Keerthi Reddy says that it is a rare case to remove a locket from the stomach of a six-month-old baby through an endoscopy procedure without any surgery. He says that the child is healthy now. The child’s parents have thanked the doctor for saving their child from the danger of death by removing the locket from the stomach.
Doctors say that there are many such cases in small children where children unknowingly swallow things like lockets, coins etc. In such a situation, parents are advised not to keep such things around their children.
