What is the new tie-breaking rule?
There were 9 rules in the old NEET UG Tie-Breaking Rule issued by NTA. Out of this, two rules were removed and now rank will be given on the basis of only 7 rules. Let’s talk about this rule.
- Candidate scoring higher marks in Biology (Botany and Zoology) will be placed higher in the ranking.
- If the ranking is not decided through Biology, then the rank will be decided through Chemistry. The rank of the student who gets more marks in Chemistry will be decided higher.
- If the rank is not decided by the two factors mentioned above, then the higher rank will be given to the candidate who scores more in Physics.
- The rank will be made on the basis of the student who has given less wrong answers than the correct answers in each subject.
- In NTA Biology (Botany & Zoology) Exam, the lower the ratio of attempted wrong answers to correct answers by the student, then he/she will be placed higher in the rank.
- The student who has a lower ratio of attempted wrong answers to correct answers in Chemistry will be given a higher rank.
- The rank will also be decided by the NTA on the basis of the ratio of wrong answers and correct answers attempted in Physics.
