The Punjab cabinet is going to expand today i.e. on Thursday. This will be the seventh cabinet expansion in the three -year tenure of the AAP government. Sanjeev Arora, who won the by -election in the Ludhiana West Assembly seat and winning the Rajya Sabha, can be included in the cabinet of Bhagwant Mann. Governor Gulabchand Kataria will administer the oath of minister at Raj Bhavan in Chandigarh at 1 pm.
AAP leader and businessman Sanjeev Arora resigned from the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. He submitted his resignation to the Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, he accepted it. Arora, who first became MP, was elected to Rajya Sabha from Punjab on April 10, 2022 and his term was to end on 9 April 2028.
With Sanjeev Arora joining the cabinet, Maan will have 17 ministers including CM in the cabinet. According to the rules, Mann can have 18 ministers including themselves, but the possibility of one of his posts remain vacant. This is because nobody's name has been revealed so far apart from Sanjeev Arora.

With the announcement of the name of the by -election, it was decided that if Sanjeev Arora comes after winning the election, he will be made a minister. According to political experts, Bhagwant Mann wants to fill his entire cabinet, although last week AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal needed a by -election in Taran Taran, so the party has decided to fill only one seat and leave another seat vacant.
The reason for leaving a vacant place in the cabinet is Taran Taran by -election. It is being said that you can announce to make a minister to win the election there.
Arora won the election by 10 thousand votes
Sanjeev Arora was sworn in as an MLA from Ludhiana West last Friday, but his joining the cabinet due to the Governor staying in Udaipur for two days is taking place a week later. In the recently concluded by -election, Arora won the decisive victory by defeating Congress veteran Bharat Bhushan Ashu by 10,637 votes. Arora secured 35,179 votes.
