The coffin came to the cathedral
Earlier on Monday, the flag-draped coffin of Queen Elizabeth II was carried to the cathedral in the Scottish capital on Monday with her four children following silently. The body of the Queen was taken from the Palace of Holyrood House in Edinburgh.
The coffin, accompanied by a contingent of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and the King’s Body Guard in Scotland – the Royal Company of Archers – was carried to St Giles’ Cathedral with King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward following . Charles, Annie and Edward wore military uniforms, but Andrew did not.
Andrew, a Royal Navy officer, lost his honorary military rank because of his friendship with notorious American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The coffin of the Queen will remain in the cathedral until Tuesday so that the general public can pay their last respects.
