Russia Accuses Ukraine of killing prisoners of war. Russia claims that the Ukrainian army killed more than 10 prisoners of war. Russia alleges that the Ukrainian army has brutally murdered unarmed Russian prisoners of war. Some footage of the incident, allegedly in the hands of Russia, shows Ukrainian soldiers taking the prisoners of war out of a room and bringing them to a ground, where they are shot.
According to media reports, a soldier, allegedly wearing a Ukrainian armband, emerges from an almost destroyed room and starts firing at the POWs. Russia has claimed him to be a Ukrainian soldier because of the Ukrainian armband. Quoting footage in the media report, it has been told that all the prisoners of war who are allegedly Russian army personnel died in the shootout.
Russia accuses Ukraine of war crimes
In the report, this incident is being reported from Makivika village in Luhansk region of northern Ukraine. Although there is no concrete information about the video that the video is actually from Luhansk, Ukraine. Russia has called this vandalism of the alleged Ukrainian army a war crime. A spokesman for the Russian army said that this is not the first time that Russian POWs have been brutalised, and this is not the first time that the Ukrainian army has committed such a war crime.
Russia claims citing video footage
It has been told in the media report that the spokesman of the Russian army also said that such war crimes are supported by the Ukrainian administration and are ignored by the West. The Russian spokesman said that in the video footage it can be seen how the Ukrainian army is brutalizing the Russian prisoners of war. He said that the Ukraine administration will be responsible for the vandalism with the prisoners of war. Responding to previous allegations, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said it would investigate any incidents, although none of the investigations have reached any conclusions.
