Hospital sources said eight injured were admitted to Civil Hospital, while four injured were taken to Jinnah Hospital and 10, including women and children, to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. So far 13 people have been killed in connection with the Korangi firing. have been arrested, three of whom have been charged with attempted murder.
Many people of Lahore were also injured.
According to the news channel, the people of Karachi thronged the streets to celebrate the new year. Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori also accompanied the people to watch the fireworks display in the Numaish Chowringhee area. Similar celebrations were reported in Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
