Regarding Starship, engineers lit 31 of the 33 engines on the lower section of the rocket simultaneously in what is called a “static fire”. Although this firing lasted only for a few seconds, everything was stopped to prevent any kind of movement.
Starship will be launched soon
Musk’s brilliant Starship rocket will become the most powerful operational rocket system in space history when it makes its maiden flight. This is going to happen very soon and may be launched in the next few weeks as it is believed that SpaceX is satisfied with the results of its testing on Thursday. The weight of Starship is 1.50 lakh kg. While earlier Saturn V was successfully launched which weighed 1.18 lakh kg.
The “static fire” was tested at SpaceX’s R&D facility in Boca Chica on the Texas/Mexico border.

N1 launch failed
Even though all the engines were not active at the same time during this test, it was sufficient in terms of the number of engines working in concert. It is probably very close to the N1 rocket that the Soviet Union designed in the late 1960s to take astronauts to the Moon. There were 30 engines in the two rings of this rocket. But the N1 failed in all four of its flights and was scrapped.
The SpaceX Super Heavy booster, with all 33 modern power units, should be about 70% more powerful off the launching pad than the N1. Even the US space agency NASA’s new mega-rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS), which took off for the first time in November last year, pales in comparison to Starship.
Company will do research on data after testing
Musk has high hopes from his rocket. Billionaire industrialists want to use it to send satellites and people into Earth’s orbit and beyond. NASA has already contracted SpaceX to build a version that could play a key role in its Artemis program to land astronauts on the Moon once again.
At present, SpaceX will now review its data regarding why all 33 engines could not catch fire during testing. Along with this, the launch pad will also be inspected whether there was any damage during the short firing.
