UN chief Antonio Guterres on Monday held important COP27 The conference said that three times more people are displaced by climate disasters than by war. He said that half of humanity is living in danger zones. Due to the ever-increasing greenhouse gas emissions around the world, it is directly affecting the weather. A few days ago a report was published. in which it was said that if Global warming But if not controlled soon, there may be a shortage of wheat and rice in India. This is such a problem that no one country is suffering, the whole world community is in the grip of it.
In the past, there was a devastating flood in Pakistan, which affected three quarters of Pakistan. In India this year the monsoon slipped in September-October due to which crops were damaged. The biggest reason behind this is global warming. Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav emphasized on green energy. He said that due to human exploitation, this problem arose today and only man has to find ways to prevent it.
What topics were discussed in COP 27
1- India is situated between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. This is the zone where the greatest danger hangs. The Union Minister said that he supported what was said in the United Nations in Monday’s round table meeting. He said that the measures being taken to keep the environment friendly for all are still quite inadequate.
2- Bhupendra Yadav said that climate finance at the global level is also inadequate. There is a special need to pay attention to the earlier warnings regarding the environment and climate. These warnings are important to protect life and livelihood from natural hazards.
3- The Union Environment Minister said that due to the issue of alerts before any natural calamity, there has been a reduction of 90 percent in the deaths due to different cyclones in the last 15 years.
4- He said that climate finance remains an important focus of this conference. The United Nations Executive Action Plan states that for the next five years, per capita expenditure will be equivalent to just 50 cents per year. Due to this, if any dangerous weather will move towards the earth, then it will be alerted in advance.
5- A report released ahead of this climate change meeting has shown that developing countries will need about one trillion dollars by the end of the decade for climate reform.
6- Yadav said that India is making rapid progress in the matter of alerting in advance for other dangers like heat wave or severe heat. He said that the country has made concerted efforts over the years to make early warnings by communities impact-based, easily understandable and actionable.
French President Emmanuel Macron has stressed the need to wean developing countries away from contaminated fuels and provide funding for current and future climate-related damages. He said that we should move our economies away from coal. We should also help emerging countries to do the same as soon as possible. Macron told leaders at the UN climate summit in Egypt that there was a need to partner more with developing countries to help them transition to clean energy.
