UN Chief Antonio Guterres said that the world is moving towards an increase of 2.8 degree Celsius in temperature due to its current policies. A rise in temperature is a death sentence for countries most at risk.
Amidst the devastation caused by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has given a big warning to many countries around the world including India, China, Bangladesh. Guterres has warned that even if global warming is miraculously limited to 1.5°C, there will be a significant rise in sea level, which is a danger bell for India, China and Bangladesh.
The Secretary-General of the UN further said that there is a possibility of the Earth moving on such a path of global warming which can pose a threat to the existence of many countries. Rising sea level due to global warming means that many countries will face the crisis of their existence. Regarding global warming, Gutares said that every fraction of a degree matters. If the temperature rises by two degrees Celsius, the sea level can double.

Sea level will increase in 2000 years
On Tuesday, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) released updated data on behalf of Gutares regarding global warming. In which it was told that if the increase in temperature around the world is limited to 1.5 degree Celsius, then in the next 2000 years the water level of the sea will increase by about two meters to three meters. If there is an increase of two degrees Celsius in temperature, then the water level of the sea can increase by six meters.
