There was a complaint about the quality
Issues related to quality of service have been in the news in the last few months. DoT had held talks with operators in December to discuss the rising cases of call drops and service quality related issues.
TRAI said in a statement on Thursday that improving the quality of service (QoS) is a continuous exercise. This requires assessment and monitoring, especially with rapid network expansion and introduction of latest technology like 5G.
In this regard, TRAI has convened a meeting with telecom service providers on February 17, 2023, to discuss QoS improvement measures and review of QoS standards, QoS of 5G services and unsolicited commercial communication, the statement further said. .
