Pacer Mohammad Siraj of Team India had the biggest role in stacking Sri Lanka for just 73 runs in the third ODI, who took 4 wickets in the powerplay itself.
Team India defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in the three-match ODI series. In the last match of the series, India not only defeated Sri Lanka, but also washed them with a world record margin of 317 runs. While Virat Kohli’s century was the highlight of this match, Mohammad Siraj proved to be the hidden star of the big win in this match and the series. (AFP)
India had scored 390 runs in Thiruvananthapuram’s batting helpful pitch but the deadly bowling of Mohammad Siraj did not allow the Sri Lankan batsmen to take advantage of it and the entire team was bundled out for 73 runs. (BCCI)
Siraj proved to be the most effective bowler in this match for Team India. Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets in the first powerplay itself. Out of this, right-handed pacer Siraj took 4 wickets alone. (BCCI)
Siraj, however, missed out on taking 5 wickets for the first time in his ODI career. He took 4 wickets for 32 runs in 10 overs, which is his best performance. Apart from this, Siraj also got a tremendous run out on his bowling. (AFP)
Siraj remained in excellent form throughout this series and kept taking wickets in the powerplay. He was the highest wicket-taker in the series. Siraj got 9 wickets in 21.4 overs. His average was 9.33, strike rate 14.4 and economy rate 3.87. (BCCI)
