There used to be a time when the middle order of the Indian team was considered weak in ODIs. For this, the selectors tried many players but did not get success. This was also one of the reasons for the poor performance of the team in the ODI World Cup played in 2019. But ever since Shreyas Iyer has been given a chance in the middle order, Team India’s problem seems to be resolved in ODIs. This batsman is doing well continuously. Talking about Iyer because today i.e. December 6 is Iyer’s birthday.
Iyer is currently an important member of India’s ODI team and he is carrying the weight of the middle order on his shoulders. His arrival has definitely strengthened the middle order of the team. So far, if Iyer’s ODI career is seen, he has played a total of 37 ODIs and scored 1452 runs. During this, his average has been 48.40. Scored a century in Test debut
Iyer made his T20 debut on 1 November 2017 against New Zealand in Delhi. In the same year, he made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on 10 December. But his Test debut came too late.
