thrashing the bowlers
This is not the first IPL of Meyers. Earlier he was with Lucknow but last season he did not get a chance to play a single match and the reason for this was Dickock. Lucknow had joined him for the base price of Rs 50 lakh. This time he got a chance in the first match and he made a splash. He scored 73 runs in 38 balls with the help of two fours and seven sixes. During this, his strike rate was 192.11.
Luck also supported Meyers in this innings. When he was on a personal score of 14, his catch was missed. Chetan Sakaria was doing the sixth over. He bowled a slower bouncer. Which Meyers wanted to play over short thirdman. Khaleel Ahmed was standing there who dropped his catch.

Mayers could not complete the century
The speed at which Meyers was batting that he would score a century in the IPL debut match but it did not happen. An excellent ball from Akshar Patel got him bowled. On the third ball of the 11th over, Patel blew the poles of Meyers. Here the team’s score was 100 runs. How stormy the innings of Meyers was, it can be gauged from the fact that when the team’s runs were 100, Meyers was dismissed after scoring 73 runs.
