Lucknow Super Giants is now out of the race to win the title of IPL 2022. The defeat in the Eliminator match against RCB has given the team a ticket to return home, not Ahmedabad. But the question is, why did this team, which played well in the entire tournament, get a homecoming ticket? Where did this team go wrong in Eliminator?
There is no doubt that if Lucknow has lost, then RCB would have shown a better game. But, one gets defeat only when he commits a mistake. And Lucknow made not one but 3 big mistakes in the Eliminator against RCB, for which he was punished in the form of defeat.
Dot Ball- Playing dot ball in T20 cricket is considered to be the biggest crime. And, the same crime has been committed by Lucknow Super Giants. He has played 43 balls dot in the Eliminator match, that too when it was known that the target was 208 runs.
Marcus Stoinis and Evin Lewis’ 15-ball game – Marcus Stoinis and Evin Lewis were in the team of Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator match. But both of them did not even play a total of 10-10 balls. The total number of balls played by both of them remained only 15. When Stoinis was dismissed after playing just 9 balls, Lewis remained unbeaten facing 6 balls. If these two batsmen had come to play a little higher in such an important match, then there was something in them that could turn the course of the match.
The difference of 30 runs in the boundaries – 21 fours and 9 sixes were hit by RCB in the Eliminator match. That is, a total of 138 runs were made from the boundaries. But on the other hand, if we talk about LSG, then only 6 fours and 14 sixes were hit. The number of sixes may be more than that of LSG, but the difference of runs between the two teams from the boundaries is 30 runs. LSG has scored only 108 runs from the boundaries. (ALL Photo: PTI)
