Eklavya Jagal has been winning medals in the National Short Track Ice Skating Championship continuously for the last 7 years.
Eklavya Jagal did a double blast in Khelo India. Eklavya won 2 gold medals in short track ice skating in the 3rd Khelo India Winter Games 2023 held in Jammu and Kashmir from February 10 to 14. He achieved this position in the age group of 15-19 years.
Eklavya, who entered the Khelo India Winter Games for the first time, was challenged by 28 skaters and this young player was able to show amazing in the very first time. Talking about Eklavya, he is currently studying in 10th class. He has been winning medals in the National Short Track Ice Skating Championship for the last 7 consecutive years.
He represented India in many international events. Eklavya won the bronze medal in the SEA (South East Asia) Open Trophy held in Singapore in January 2020. At the same time, earlier in the 2018 Australian Open, this young player had secured the third position in the 500 meter final.
Eklavya is constantly improving his performance and is now eyeing to qualify for next year’s Youth Olympics and 2026 Winter Olympics. To fulfill this dream of his, Eklavya has put in full force.
Eklavya’s day begins with fitness training. He wakes up at 4.30 every morning and then does fitness training, which includes running for 7 to 8 km along with workouts and skating exercises.
