NewsNCR’s Global Summit ‘Global Summit What India Thinks Today’ was attended by the Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur on the second day. During this, he kept his words very frankly. Under which he underlined the changing India, as well as the story behind India’s achievement in sports and the possible plan for the Agniveers coming out of the Agneepath scheme. Along with this, he also gave his views on many other subjects. Here are 10 major things that he said at the NewsNCR Summit…
- Anurag Thakur said that Yoga is a big reason for the change in the attitude of the world towards India. When PM Modi talked about International Yoga Day, the whole country accepted it and today the world has celebrated Yoga Day on 21st June. Even during the Corona period, India provided the vaccine to the world, so we got the benefit of the native decoction as well.
- When we talk about soft power, I went to the Cannes festival. If any country got the title of Country of Honor there, then India got it. This tells about India’s growing strength in the field of soft power. Banaras is also a great example for soft power. We are also becoming a huge soft power.
- Talking about the game, the training of players was difficult during the Corona epidemic. We got it done and India won the most medals ever in the Tokyo Olympics. After 121 years, India won the medal in athletics and Neeraj Chopra put the gold in India’s bag. Our mindset towards sports has changed. We have made many changes in that direction.
- It takes 8-9 years to make a player. We are also increasing the bench strength. So that it is our goal that after 10-12 years we will come in the top-10 countries of the world in the Olympics. For this, we are continuously providing a platform to the players from financial help.
- Agneepath scheme is a historic decision. After four years, when Agniveer leaves the army, he will get Rs 20-25 lakh as salary and Rs 11 lakh extra. I am also thinking in my department that when these fit people leave the army, will we be able to give them jobs by getting them through physical training course, 15-16 lakh posts of physical teachers are vacant there. We are thinking about this.
- Anurag Thakur said on the ruckus about the Agneepath scheme that there is an appeal to the youth not to do violence and not to be misled. If the government has failed to explain its point, then it will explain further. But by blowing up the train, by pelting stones, by burning the bus, no one is getting any good. The only way out is through dialogue.
- Fertilizer prices increased across the world, but we did not let the burden fall on the farmers. Compared to 2014, we have reduced the prices by 52 percent and have doubled purchases. We have not done any reduction in providing employment to work. We gave 10 thousand rupees to the street vendors from the Svanidhi scheme. We gave loans to such people without any guarantee and freed them from the interest cycle.
- If we look at the epidemic of 100 years ago today, more people died of starvation than the epidemic. There was not a single such death today. We built toilets, brought electricity to every village. Today, at the press of a button, money reaches the accounts of farmers and the needy. Big American companies also say that if you want to learn digitization then learn from India. There big companies are cutting checks and we are making digital payments.
- It showed a growth through the OTT platform during the pandemic. Now India has to see what role India can play in creating content. In the last 4-5 years, there has been no case of any deadlock in the film world from the Censor Board. There is self regulation on OTT platform. If there are any complaints, they are informed.
- Many reforms took place during the Corona epidemic. For the first time, the country saw such a leader, on whose behest people clapped and played the plate. Even today many countries are giving physical certificate of vaccination. Under the leadership of Modi ji, digital certificates were already made available, with which we can roam around the world today.
