In such a situation, an appeal has been made to the people to be cautious.
It will rain in the states of North East
The IMD has said that heavy rains may occur over most parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Himalayan areas of West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim for the next five days. With this, the Southwest Monsoon has reached West Bengal at least four days before its normal date of onset. It is present over some parts of the Himalayan regions of the state. Due to this, there will be rain in the areas of North East.
Rain forecast in southern states too
The Meteorological Department has said that for the next five days, there may be heavy rains in all the areas of Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep.
