Weather Update IMD: The Indian Meteorological Department has given weather information across the country. IMD has told that there is a possibility of rain in the capital Delhi in the next six days. Due to which a yellow alert has been issued.

In such a situation, strong winds and rain may continue throughout the week. Meanwhile, the sky remained cloudy on Tuesday, resulting in a drop in the maximum temperature and for the first time in the month of June, the maximum temperature has been recorded below 40 degree Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung Observatory was 39.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 43.7 degree Celsius. The minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 31.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal. All the weather stations in the national capital recorded the maximum temperature in the range of 38 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius. In the coming days, there is a possibility of continuous western disturbance and low level easterly wind, which is expected to bring relief from the scorching heat.
Mercury can drop to 35 degree Celsius
The IMD has issued a yellow alert warning of thunderstorms or light rain in the next six days. By Sunday, the mercury is expected to drop to 35 degree Celsius. With the onset of monsoon season from June 1, no rain has been recorded in the capital this time. Generally, Delhi receives 13.8 mm of rain in the first 13 days of the month of June. Mahesh Palawat, vice-president (climate change and meteorology), Skymet, said that the monsoon is expected to reach Delhi on June 27 or a day or two before that.
Talking about other states, during the last 24 hours in Rajasthan, light to moderate rain occurred at some places in western parts and light rain at isolated places in eastern parts. Hail and rain were recorded in Bikaner district. Day and night temperatures remained below normal at most places in the state. Light to moderate rain at isolated places will continue over East Rajasthan for the next three-four days. Four people have died and the city has been flooded due to a landslide that occurred amid heavy rains in Assam’s Guwahati.
At present, heat wave conditions persist in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. IMD says that there will be relief from harsh sunlight on June 15-16. Due to the Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of scattered rain and thundershowers in the Western Himalaya region and its adjoining plains (Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan) till June 13-15. IMD predicts that there may be heavy rain in the Himalayan regions. Whereas on June 16 and 17, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and East Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department says that conditions are favorable for further advance of monsoon into parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar in the next two days. At the same time, strong rain may continue for five more days in Northeast and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
