The Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand has opened for tourists from today. The Valley of Flowers was declared a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO in 2005. More than 300 species of flowers are found here.
The Valley of World Heritage Flowers, located in Joshimath, Uttarakhand, will be opened for tourists from Wednesday. The Valley of Flowers is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Tourists come from far and wide to visit the Valley of Flowers. The tourism department has made all the preparations to open it. The park administration was busy in preparations for a month. The park administration has also constructed 2 foot bridges on the way along with the repair of 4 kilometer walkway. Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar said that this valley is spread over an area of 87.5 square kilometers at an altitude of 3962 meters above sea level.
The Valley of Flowers comes under the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. This place is laden with some colorful and incredible flowers like marigolds and orchids. Apart from this, a good number of birds, butterflies and animals can also be seen in this area.
Valley of Flowers will open for tourists for 5 months
The Valley of Flowers is open for tourists from June to October. This year more than 12 species of flowers have bloomed prematurely in the Valley of Flowers. More than 300 species of flowers are found here. These include Anemones, Geraniums, Primulus, Blue Poppy and Bluebells. The most beautiful flower to see here is the Brahma Kamal, also known as the state flower of Uttarakhand. The river Pushpavati, which flows from time to time in the valley, springs and falls, and the beauty of the Himalayas is accompanied by a smattering of flowers. Let us tell you that it was declared a World Heritage by UNESCO in 2005.
Millions of tourists arrive every year to see the Valley of Flowers
Every year thousands of tourists come from abroad to see this valley of flowers full of natural beauty. The special thing is that there is a 17 km long trek in the Valley of Flowers, which starts from Ghangaria situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet. A small settlement near Joshimath can be reached by trek from Govindghat. Permission is given by Nanda Devi National Park to enter the Valley of Flowers through offline mode.
