Interest Free Agri Loan: In order to provide the benefit of interest free agricultural loan to the farmers, the Rajasthan government has made it easy to form PACS. Now instead of 500, only 300 members will be needed. Members will also get fertilizers and seeds easily.
The Rajasthan government has changed the already existing criteria for the formation of PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Society). So that its formation is easy and new farmers can also get the benefit of interest free crop loan. Earlier, where the share amount for the formation of new packs was Rs 5 lakh and the minimum number of members was 500, the share amount has been reduced to 3 lakh and the number of members is 300. More packs can be formed than this. Rajasthan Cooperative Registrar Muktanand Agrawal explained the reason behind this change. He said that the intention of the government is that more and more farmers should join the village service cooperative societies. So that he can easily get interest free crop loan (Interest Free LoanAlong with this, other facilities including fertilizers, seeds, insecticides should also be benefited near his house and the way of his cultivation should be easy.
Agarwal said that in the year 2021-22, the target of distributing interest-free crop loans of Rs 18 thousand 500 crore to the farmers was. With the formation of new PACS, new farmers can also get the benefit of interest free crop loans. For this, in the budget announcement year 2022-23, it has been increased to 20 thousand crores. He directed the concerned officers to complete the process of formation of new village service cooperative societies at the earliest so that farmers deprived of interest free crop loans can also come under its purview. So far this year 154 new packs have been made.
Instructions to remove the problems coming in the formation of packs
Cooperative Registrar Aggarwal discussed with the sub registrars about the target of completing the formation of new PACS district wise and instructed to complete the target by the month of June. He also directed the Additional Divisional Registrars to review the districts of the division target wise and visit the districts to remove the problems faced in the process of formation of new PACS. He was addressing through VC regarding the fulfillment of the set target of formation of new village service cooperative societies. He said that new PACS must be formed on the Gram Panchayat without packs.
Formation of one thousand new village service cooperative societies
Aggarwal said that new village service cooperative societies are being formed rapidly at the headquarters of all gram panchayats in the state. During the tenure of the present government, more than 1 thousand new village service cooperative societies have also been formed and this has made about 7300 village service cooperative societies in the state. He said that with the formation of new village service cooperative societies, more than 3 lakh new members have been added to these cooperatives. On the other hand, in the year 2022-23 so far 154 new packs have been formed.
How much loan did farmers get through PACS
According to the Rajasthan government, crop loan of Rs 18,072 crore has been given to 28.53 lakh farmers in the year 2021-22. This is the record of maximum crop loan distribution in one year in the history of the state. This year, crop loans worth Rs 20 thousand crore are being distributed to the farmers and 5 lakh new farmers are also being linked to it.
