CM Ashok Gehlot said that by 2024, 4.88 lakh farmers of the state will be given new agricultural electricity connections. The Chief Minister said that the effort of the Rajasthan government is to bring prosperity in the lives of the farmers.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot told that our government has given about 13 lakh farmers (Farmers) has been given a grant of Rs 291 crore on agricultural electricity connections. He said that our government is continuously working in the interest of the farmers and is providing them all possible help. After addressing the review meeting of the Energy Department at the Chief Minister’s residence, CM Gehlot said that by 2024, 4.88 lakh farmers of the state would be given new agricultural electricity connections. The Chief Minister said that about 1.25 crore farmers and domestic consumers have been given relief by giving a grant of Rs 1044 crore in electricity bills from the schemes of the state government. According to a government statement, the electricity bills of about 43 lakh consumers have become zero due to the grant. Power supply in the state has become smooth due to the active and better management of the state government. He said that despite the increased consumption of electricity in the state due to scorching heat, the power supply has been normal. Now sufficient electricity is available in the state for supply according to the demand of June and July.
Electricity bill of 7 lakh farmers became zero
CM Gehlot said that in order to provide financial relief to the farmers, a grant of Rs 291.54 crore has been given to more than 12.66 lakh farmers on agricultural electricity connections under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Yojana. He said that to give relief in electricity bills to more than 1.15 crore domestic consumers of the state, a grant of Rs 752.58 crore has been given under the Chief Minister’s Household Electricity Grant Scheme. With this, the electricity bill of about 36 lakh domestic consumers and seven lakh farmers has become zero.
Expressing concern over the problems being faced in coal supply, Gehlot said that the state government is making every effort to solve it at the earliest by talking to the Center. The Chief Minister told the officers that at present the work of irrigation of crops is being done in many districts of the state. In view of the need of irrigation, adequate supply of electricity should be ensured to the farmers so that the crops get enough water and farmers can get relief.
Gehlot said that by 2024, 4.88 lakh farmers in the state would be given new agricultural electricity connections in a phased manner. He directed to release the pending agricultural electricity connections in the state at the earliest to provide relief to the farmers.
