This decision of the Jammu and Kashmir government was opposed by National Conference spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar and termed it as ‘erasing history’. He said that Sheikh Abdullah rules the hearts of the people in Jammu and Kashmir and will always do so. Dar further said, ‘We respect the national symbol. But trying to erase our history, identity and icon is a display of their hatred.
