On the second anniversary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Narendra Modi government recently introduced the Central Universities Bill in the Lok Sabha.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today informed about setting up of a separate IAS/Civil Services Examination Center for Ladakh located at Leh. On the second anniversary of the Union Territory of Ladakh, the Narendra Modi government recently introduced the Central Universities Bill in the Lok Sabha. In which talk has been said about better education and development of the Central University. The Government of India had approved the formation of a Central University in the Union Territory of Ladakh on 22 July. This university will be built with Rs 750 crore.
After much deliberation under Home Minister Amit Shah, the name of the university was given as Sindhu or Indus River. Because the government wanted a name that would cover not only Ladakh, but also the Pakistan-occupied territories of Gilgit and Baltistan as the map of the union territory. In his Independence Day address in 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the setting up of a new Central University in the Union Territory of Ladakh. Explain that after bifurcation of the state into two union territories, these areas were kept out of the jurisdiction of central universities in Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils of Leh and Kargil had expressed their views regarding a separate university.
This also changed after the removal of 370
According to the information, after the removal of 370, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been considered as separate union territories. Since then there are 20 districts in Jammu and Kashmir and two districts Leh and Kargil in Ladakh. Leh is the largest district of India in terms of area. The number of tourists has increased due to the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. After the formation of the Union Territory, security increased further and a positive atmosphere was created for the tourists. It is expected that the travel industry also benefited financially.
