was born in Madhya Pradesh
Balkrishna Sharma was born on 8 December 1897 in village Bhayana in Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh, his father was a follower of Vallabh sect and worked as a priest. Due to this, his early studies started late, after middle education he went to Ujjain for further studies and completed his matriculation there, at the time when his studies were going on, at that time the independence movement in the country was in boom, such His interest in movements increased. This read the effect on his young mind.
quit studies and jumped into the freedom movement
This was the period when Pratap Patrika, which was published under the editing of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, used to dominate, in such a situation, Sharma ji came in contact with Vidyarthi ji, in the meantime Gandhiji started the non-cooperation movement and left studies and jumped into the movement. This is where his visits to prison began, between 1921 and 1944, the British sent him to jail six times.
Pratap became editor
Balkrishna Sharma had a good contact with journalist Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, due to his interest in writing, he was also recognized as a poet and journalist, along with jail visits, he had also intensified his writing work. In such a situation, after the death of Vidyarthi, he was made the editor of Pratap Patrika.
Nominated for Constituent Assembly
Balkrishna Sharma was nominated in the Constituent Assembly for the then United Provinces and today’s Uttar Pradesh, he was also a famous Hindi poet, he was awarded Padma Bhushan for his contribution in the field of literature. He died on 29 April 1960.
