Angry students have been protesting against the government by taking to the streets for the last four days. In all the states, the protesters burnt trains and set fire to them. To quell this fire of protest, many ministries of the central government and BJP-ruled states have promised jobs to Agniveers after retirement. home Ministry-
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday announced to reserve 10 per cent vacancies for Agniveers in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles. Apart from this, the ministry also announced three years relaxation in upper age limit for Agniveers for recruitment in CAPFs and Assam Rifles. The first batch of Agniveers will be given a relaxation of five years in the upper age limit prescribed.
Ministry of Defence-
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday approved the proposal of 10 per cent reservation for Agniveers in Defense Ministry jobs. Rajnath Singh’s office said, 10 percent reservation will be implemented in the Indian Coast Guard and in the Defense Department in the civil posts and in all the 16 public sector undertakings in the defense sector. This reservation will be in addition to the existing quota for ex-servicemen.
Finance Ministry-
The Finance Ministry held a meeting with the heads of public sector banks and financial institutions to find employment opportunities for Agniveer. The Finance Ministry said in a statement that it has also been decided that banks will explore possibilities of helping Agniveer through suitable credit facilities for skill enhancement, education for setting up business and self-employment. According to the statement, existing government schemes like Mudra and Stand Up India will be leveraged to extend such support to Agniveer.
Ministry of Shipping-
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways announced six service opportunities for easy deployment of Agniveers to various roles in the Merchant Navy. These service opportunities are for Agniveers serving in the Indian Navy. According to an official statement, with the help of this scheme, Agniveers will get the necessary training and professional certification with naval experience, which will enable them to join the merchant navy across the world. The schemes introduced for Agniveers include the transition from the Indian Navy to the Certified Rating in the Merchant Navy, the transition from an Electrical Rating in the Indian Navy to a Certified Electro-Technical Rating in the Merchant Navy, and from Rating in the Indian Navy to a Certified Class IV-NCV COC Holding Merchant. Ministry of Housing and Petroleum-
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under the Ministries of Housing and Petroleum are working on recruiting Agniveers after completing four years of service in the Armed Forces. Defending this plan in a global conference called What India Thinks Today organized by NewsNCR Media Group, said, it is a very big plan. I can officially say that the PSUs under my ministries are already working on the recruitment of trained manpower (Agniveers). Their skills can be put to use in PSUs.
Ministry of Civil Aviation-
The Civil Aviation Ministry said that it will induct Agniveers in its services. The ministry said that we hope that Agniveer will help in air traffic services, aircraft technician services, aircraft maintenance, meteorology and air accident investigation services.
Uttar Pradesh-
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while trying to assure the youth, said, our ‘Agniveers’, determined to serve Mother Bharati, will be an invaluable fund of the nation and the UP government will give priority to Agniveers in police and other services. Jai Hind.’
Madhya Pradesh-
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the soldiers recruited under the Agneepath scheme on short-term contract basis in the Indian Army will be given preference in the recruitment of Madhya Pradesh Police. CM Shivraj said that such jawans who would have served in the Agneepath scheme, they will be given priority in the recruitment of Madhya Pradesh Police.
Uttarakhand-
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami did not say that the ‘Agniveers’ returning after their four-year stint with the armed forces would be given jobs in the police and disaster management departments for harnessing their discipline, skills and skills.
Haryana-
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that youth recruiting in the armed forces under the Agneepath scheme of the Center will be given preference in government jobs in Haryana.
Karnataka-
Karnataka Home Minister Arga Gyanendra said that his government plans to give priority to Agniveers in the recruitment of state police. Gyanendra said that he believes that the Center and the states should see who is instigating violence in the performance of military service aspirants in some parts of the country. When asked about the concerns being raised about job security after four years, Gyanendra said that only those who are willing to serve for four years will apply for Agniveer.
Assam-
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Agniveers who come back after four years will be given priority in the Assam Arogya Nidhi initiative.
Arunachal Pradesh-
Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that ‘Agniveers’ will get priority in state police jobs and state government’s subsidy schemes.
