1. India, A-SAT made a big success towards becoming a superpower in space
Not only is the war between the big countries of the world going on to hold their own on the earth, but in the world of space, this war is getting intensified. India is also involved in this race. India has also got important success during the tenure of Modi government. In the year 2019, in the month of March, India got a big success in the space sector when it became the fourth country to have the capability to shoot down a live satellite in low orbit in space.

Giving information about this achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself announced that India has now become one of the world’s 4 largest space power due to the successful operation of Mission Shakti. Under Mission Shakti operation, Anti Satellite Missile A-SAT (ASAT Missile) shot down a live satellite in lower orbit within just 3 minutes. Before India, only America, Russia and China had this capability. ASAT is designed to destroy or disable satellites. America first did this feat in the year 1958.
2. QUAD, China and India Activism

Recently, the leaders of the Quad countries met in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. The Quad consists of 4 member countries, in which apart from India, America, Japan and Australia are. QUAD stands for Quadilateral Security Dialog.
However, China hates this organization and is deeply irritated by it. Whereas the above four countries consider it useful to crack down on China. In Tokyo, Modi said that the Quad has made a special place at the global level in such a short time. Today its scope has become wider and the form has become effective. It was formed in 2007, but by going to 2017 this group became active and now it has become active all over the world.
3. Galwan Valley dispute and India’s befitting reply
Disputes over the border between India and China have been going on for a long time, but in June 2020, there was a violent confrontation between the armies of the two countries in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh in which at least 20 soldiers of the Indian Army were martyred. Since then there has been tension between the two countries at many points along the border. At present, around 50,000 to 60,000 soldiers from both sides have been deployed along the Line of Actual Control in the sensitive area. India is also firmly standing there.
However, so far 15 rounds of talks have been held between the two sides to ease the ties. There was an agreement to withdraw from many areas, but there is a situation of dispute over many disputed areas. Recently, the opposition has attacked the Modi government after the news that China is building a second bridge in its occupied area around the strategically important Pangong lake in eastern Ladakh, but the Center says that our No construction is being done on the land.
4. Construction of Defense Corridor, Promotion of Make in India
An important beginning in the defense sector of the Modi government is the construction of the Defense Corridor. In the budget speech in 2018-19, the then Finance Minister had announced to build two Defense Industrial Corridors in the country. Of these, the first is being built in five cities of Tamil Nadu and the second in six cities of Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Defense Industrial Corridor in Aligarh in September last year.
The central government had announced the creation of a defense corridor with the aim of reducing the dependence on foreign companies in the defense sector and increasing the production of defense materials on its own. Its purpose is to make itself self-reliant in the field of defense products as well as to promote the Make in India campaign. Defense corridor is like a route, in which many cities are included. In these cities, industry is developed for the manufacture of goods used in the defense sector. The first corridor is being built in five cities of Tamil Nadu and the second in six cities of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from Aligarh in UP, defense corridors will be built in Agra, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Kanpur and Lucknow.
5. Rafale’s entry into the Indian Air Force, air security attentive
Rafale aircraft equipped with state-of-the-art facilities made in France is now part of the Indian Air Force fleet. With the arrival of this aircraft, the combat capability of the Indian Army has increased manifold. The Rafale jet aircraft is equipped with the longest-range air-to-air meteorite missile, air-to-surface Hammer missile and SCALP missile. Also, it can fire up to a distance of 100 km.
However, the deal was fiercely attacked by the opposition. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had made this deal a big issue in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But he did not get the benefit of this in the election. Rafale aircraft started arriving in India in July and August 2020.
6. S-400 Missile Defense System for China and Pakistan
In view of the ever-increasing tense relations between China and Pakistan on the border, the Indian Army needs to be vigilant and strong. India is buying S-400 missile defense system from Russia. The S-400 is considered one of the most advanced weapons of modern warfare. This missile has the capability to hit a long range. The missile defense system is equipped with four different missiles.
India is deploying S-400 missiles to counter any threat from Pakistan and China. Recently, a senior intelligence official of the US defense establishment Pentagon told US lawmakers that India wants to deploy the S-400 missile defense system by June next month. The supply of the S-400 missile system was started by Russia in December last year.
7. Successfully Tested First Indigenous Anti-Ship Missile After BrahMos
The Indian Army is constantly doing new experiments and tests to strengthen its defense system. The Indian Navy, increasing its strength this month, successfully test-fired the first indigenous anti-ship missile. The missile, designed in collaboration with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), was tested at the Integrated Test Range in Balasore, Odisha.
The first firing of the indigenously developed anti-ship missile from the Seeking 42B helicopter was successful. This major success achieved under Make in India is considered to be an important step towards achieving self-reliance in specific missile technology.
A month earlier, an anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired by the Indian Navy and the Andaman and Nicobar Command. And now the first firing of indigenously developed anti-ship missile was successfully done by the Indian Navy.
8. India working on 5th generation stealth fighter
The Indian Army is moving ahead under the Make in India campaign and now a 5th generation fighter aircraft is also being brought in it, so that the enemies will have to strategize many times to think against their country. Work is going on in the country for Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) ie fifth generation fighter aircraft.
India is going to make 5th generation stealth fighter jet, ‘AMCA’ in the line of preparing indigenous fighter jets. Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Aerospace Defense Agency (ADA) have started manufacturing AMCA fighter aircraft based on the design. AMCA is the fifth class indigenous fighter aircraft of the country. Last year i.e. in February, India had introduced the world to the AMCA in the Aero-India show.
