Today is the great bath of Somvati Amavasya. After two and a half years, such a large number of devotees are being seen on a bathing festival in the holy city of Haridwar. From the roads to the Ganges Ghat and then to the mythical Brahmakund, only crowds of people are visible everywhere.
From 12 o’clock in the night at the mythical Brahmakund, there was an influx of people taking a dip in the Ganges. By the time of Brahma Muhurta, the Ganges Ghat was packed with devotees, everyone seems to be competing to take a dip in the Ganges.
Somvati Amavasya bath is considered to be of special importance among Hindus, that is why its importance increases further when it falls on Somvati Amavasya first and then on Monday. This is the reason that devotees from far and wide want to earn merit by taking a dip in the Ganges on this day.
Devotees who come to bathe in the Ganges say that bathing in the Ganges on the day of Somvati Amavasya is of great importance.
Pandit Manoj Tripathi says that whenever any Amavasya falls on Som Yukta i.e. Monday, it is called Somvati Amavasya. Amavasya bath is a very virtuous midwife for the ancestors for charity.
On this day, those who offer prayers, offer donations, etc. for the sake of their ancestors, their ancestors remain satisfied and their house is full of wealth and food. The worship of Vat Savitri on this day also has great importance. Women also worship Vat on this day for the long life of their husband and prosperity in the house.
In view of the huge crowd, the police administration has divided the entire fair area into 5 super zones, 16 zones and 39 sectors. In view of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra, a separate traffic plan has been implemented. Swatantra Kumar SP City says that a large number of devotees will come to Haridwar on the bathing festival of Somvati Amavasya, in view of this, arrangements have been made by us.
