The violence spread in many parts of Sudan has created a civil war-like situation there. About 4,000 Indians are also trapped in the midst of this violence. The Government of India is worried about their safety. Sudan the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) It claims to have captured the presidential palace, the residence of army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Khartoum’s international airport.
The RSF has also said that it has also taken control of two other air bases in the northern city of Merowe and El-Obeid in the south. In fact, on Saturday, a fierce echo of firing and explosions was heard again in many areas here. The United Nations and America had also called for reducing this tension. But could not control.
Government is concerned for Indians
Violent clashes between RSF paramilitary forces and the Sudanese army in Sudan’s capital have thrown thousands of Indians living here into panic and uncertainty. Many Indians have reported that they are stuck in hotels in Khartoum. They are very scared seeing the violence spread all around.
According to one information, about four thousand Indians live in Sudan. In view of the situation, the Indian Embassy in Khartoum in Sudan has issued an advisory for the safety of these Indians. The Embassy has asked all Indian citizens to take special precautions and stay indoors with immediate effect.

Why is there violence in Sudan?
In fact, there is a war between two generals here, due to which the public is suffering here. The Sudanese army, led by Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces, a powerful paramilitary group led by Lt. Gen. Mohamed Hamdan, first flared up and then clashed.
Here both sides have been accusing each other of attacking. The Rapid Support Forces say that for the first time they attacked a camp in Soba, south of Khartoum, with all types of heavy and light weapons.
While an army officer speaking to Al Jazeera accused the paramilitary forces of opening fire first, adding that they were trying to capture the military headquarters in the center of the city.
Sudan has a history of military takeover
Military coup in Sudan has its own history. Sudan became independent in 1956. It has had more successful military acquisitions since independence than any other African country. But on Saturday, for the first time, open clashes between the two military units were seen. This increased concern, Sudan is engulfed in civil war.
Where did the spark of violence in Sudan flare up?
Sudan’s longtime dictator President Omar Hassan al-Bashir was expelled during a revolution in 2019. He was accused of promoting internal violence and separatism. During his reign, al-Bashir did many such scandals, due to which public revolt spread against him.
Al-Bashir was convicted of corruption and other crimes, after which he was imprisoned in Khartoum. After this, in October 2021, the army captured power by a coup here.
Although the military agreed to hand over power to a civilian-led government amid an economic crisis, the process saw a rivalry between General al-Burhan and General Hamdan. After which both started throwing mud at each other.
