State Bank of India has given 6 tips for customers, with the help of which UPI transactions can be made secure. In view of the increasing incidents of online fraud, State Bank has taken this step. UPI, which started in 2016, has emerged as the most reliable transaction option till date. It saw the fastest growth in the COVID epidemic era and this pace is increasing continuously. But there is also a risk of fraud in this, to avoid which SBI has given special tips.
SBI has issued a tweet about these tips. It has been told in the tweet how important it is to be cautious while making UPI payments. SBI has given 6 tips for this. The first in this is – there is no need to enter UPI PIN to take money from anyone. That is, the UPI PIN is always for giving or transferring money and not for receiving money. Nowadays fraud of asking UPI PIN in the name of taking money is going on, which needs to be careful.
SBI’s second tip is- Verification of the person to whom you are sending money is also necessary. This will save your money from going to the wrong account. This verification is very easy and it gets verified in seconds. As soon as you enter the UPI address of that person on your UPI app, its verification will be revealed. Verified account will be written on the screen of your phone. This will give you information about the receiver.
The third tip is- Do not accept any collect request without knowing or verifying it. Maybe someone is trying to send you money by luring you in the beginning. Later in this sequence there can be a big mistake. Not getting information about whether the person sending you money is right or having a criminal image and accepting the request to collect money can lead to trouble later.
Fourth tip – don’t reveal your UPI PIN to everyone. It is most important to keep your UPI PIN to yourself. Whatever the PIN is, it is very important to keep it very secure. Leaking the PIN can mean forgery or fraud in your transaction. Therefore, tell your PIN to the one whom you consider most trusted in the family. The same level of security is maintained for ATM or debit card PIN as well. The fifth tip is – If you give money to someone with QR code, then first verify the details of that person. The last and sixth tip is to keep changing the UPI PIN like you do with ATM and Debit card PIN.
