Amidst a new debate about the safety of cars in the country, the Indian government may postpone the law to make 6-airbags mandatory from next month.
If If you do not use the seat belt while driving the car, then even the airbags will not be able to protect you. If you think that when airbags are provided in the car then what is the need to wear seat belts. So this is your complete misunderstanding. Let us tell you that in the midst of a new debate about the safety of cars in the country, the Indian government may postpone the law to make 6-airbags mandatory from next month. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had issued a draft notification regarding this in January. Then the government had said that 6 airbags would be made mandatory for passenger cars in the country. The government had fixed the deadline of October 1, but now that the deadline is near, there are speculations about it being postponed.
Regarding this matter, Tata Motors has given some important things related to wearing seat belt and our sitting position in the car. Tata Motors says that after seeing many crash tests, it has also built structures for the safety of the people and whether they meet the safety standards or not. It is very important for us people to know the basics related to wearing seat belts and our seating position in the car.
A new debate arose about the safety of cars
Along with this, employees of Tata Motors say that airbags prove to be very useful in saving the lives of the people in the car in the event of an accident. Recently, former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry died in a road accident. Investigation revealed that Mistry was not wearing a seatbelt. Since then a new debate has erupted regarding the safety of cars. According to sources, the mandatory 6 airbag rule in cars can be avoided. There has been debate about which.
Keep these 8 things in mind
Wearing a seat belt while driving a car is for our primary safety.
Airbags give us second protection. If you don’t wear a seatbelt, even the airbag won’t be able to protect you.
Seat belt is not only for long distance but also for short distance.
The body should be at least 300 mm away from the steering wheel. Sit comfortably on the seat and do not lean forward.
Never get a crash or a side bar installed in your vehicle. With this, your vehicle may be safe during an accident, but the passenger sitting inside can be killed and the airbag may also take time to open.
Once the airbags, steering wheel, wiring harness are used, they must be replaced.
Headrest is very important for driver and passenger. Not having the headrest in the right place can break the neck during an accident.
Encourage your children to wear seatbelts for all passengers (front and rear).
Do not keep such objects in the car that can easily roll over and fall on you.
Draft came in January
Let us inform that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had issued a proposal in the notification issued in January 2022 that 6 airbags should be made mandatory for all M1 category cars manufactured after October 01, 2022. As per the ministry’s proposal, M1 category cars should have two side/side torso airbags and two side curtain/tube airbags. Apart from this, two front airbags should be there. In this way a provision of total 6 airbags was made.
