Training is given for 72 weeks
Garud commandos are given 72 weeks training. The special thing is that this special force competes by reaching in the middle of the enemy. They have the skill of operating many types of weapons. They are also trained in the use of night vision, smoke grenade, hand grenade etc. At the end of the training, they are trained with the Para Military Force of the Indian Army. Before this, they get a chance to train with Special Frontier Force, Indian Army and National Security Guards on different occasions. During training, jawans are also sent to Parachute Training School in Agra. After this, they are trained in Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School in Mizoram.
