Abdul Rahim was born on 17 August 1909 in Hyderabad. Graduated from Osmania University. Took training in physical education. Taught in many schools. Played football for college. Also played for local club Kamar Club. HSV Hoek also showed his talent for the Netherlands in the Dutch Amateur League. After this, his coaching career started around 1943. He was made the secretary of Hyderabad Football Association in 1943. He remained on this post till his last days. Then he was made the coach of the football team of Hyderabad Police. Under his guidance the team performed well. The team won five consecutive Rovers Cups and four Durand Cups.
