After the film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, the love story of Rajshree Production was eagerly awaited and there was also curiosity to see the acting of Sunny Deol’s younger son Rajveer Deol and Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma Dhillon. For those watching ‘Both’ with expectations, this Star Kids film does not disappoint at all. But to know whether Rajshree’s ‘Love Story’ formula which has been running for years is enough to entertain the audience or not, read the full review of the film ‘Dono’.
Like father Sooraj Barjatya, Avnish Barjatya also tries to include every angle in his films, which we have seen in Rajshri’s films. But at the same time Avneesh has not forgotten to give a modern touch of Genji to this story. Even though it is a little slow, you still do not get bored watching this film.
Story
We have always seen the atmosphere of marriage in most of the films of Barjatya family. A wedding is taking place in this film too but it is a destination wedding. Dev Saraf, who started a startup in Bengaluru, away from his family, has been in love with his best friend Alina (Kanika Deol) for ten years, but he can never muster the courage to express his feelings. When he gets invited to Alina’s destination wedding in Thailand, he leaves for Thailand with his broken heart.
Dev meets Meghna (Paloma Dhillon) in Thailand. Meghna, who lives in Mumbai, has come to attend the wedding on behalf of the groom along with her ex-boyfriend Gaurav (Aditya Nanda). Now, to know at what point Dev and Meghna, who set out on different paths, unite, you will have to watch Rajshri’s film ‘Dono’.
Direction and writing
There is no ‘rocket science’ in the story of this film. This is a predictable story from beginning to end. Still Avneesh presents this film in such a way that we can sit and watch this film for about two and a half hours without any complaint. Along with directing the film, Avneesh has also taken charge of the writing. However, Manu Sharma has supported Avneesh in this writing. It is important to move on from a relationship that cannot keep you happy. Avneesh tries to explain to us through Meghna and Jai that you will be happy only if you forget the past and try to move towards the future.
This film also has a cricket match like Sooraj Barjatya’s films and also a kissing scene with Avnish Barjatya, it can also be called Rajshri’s urban-tradition cocktail. The special thing about ‘Both’ is that Avneesh and Manu together do not try to complicate the simple story. Even before this, a simple story was presented in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ in such a way that it won the hearts of the audience. But the question is, are there Rajveer-Paloma, Salman and Bhagyashree, who can give Avnish his first superhit?
acting
Those who created a stir at the box office with Gadar 2 sunny deol His son Rajveer has proved with the character of Jai that he is as talented as his father. Dev’s struggle to save his business, the pain of losing love, his helplessness after revealing his truth to Meghna, the love visible in his eyes are brilliantly presented by Rajveer on the big screen.
Paloma can be called a ‘born’ actress. His effortless acting wins hearts. The chemistry of Jai-Paloma is refreshing, which makes the film interesting. But it is not Salman-Bhagyashree who brought the audience to the theatre.

imperfections
From ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ to ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, each of Rajshri’s films has given many superhit songs, which people love to listen to even today. But in this case ‘Both’ completely disappoints. Despite having 8 songs, there is not a single song of this film which we listen to again and again on loop. The songs of the film may not be special, but Chirantan Das’s choreography is amazing. The way he has presented the beauty of Thailand on screen through his camera lens is amazing.
