President Draupadi Murmu said that the intellectual development of students is done by using their mother tongue. This gives equal opportunities to both urban and rural students.

President Draupadi Murmu on Friday said that learning in regional and local languages makes education accessible to all. Drupadi Murmu Initiated various projects of the Union Education Ministry during his two-day visit to Odisha and said that education is a tool of empowerment and there is no doubt that the use of mother tongue helps in intellectual development of the students. He said that while learning in mother tongue develops creative thinking and analytical skills in students, urban and rural students get equal opportunities.
The President said, ‘We must ensure that every child in our country has access to education at every level. We have to make every effort to make education available to all without any discrimination. Language should be an enabling factor and not a hindrance in imparting education to the students. Murmu said that it has been observed that many students find it difficult to understand technical education in English and that is why the government has taken steps to provide technical education in regional languages under the National Education Policy 2020.
AICTE appreciated
President Murmu said that earlier students had to face difficulties in getting technical education in regional languages due to non-availability of books in local languages and the introduction of studies in regional and local languages would go towards building a well-educated, aware and vibrant society. I will go a long way.
He appreciated the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for its efforts to overcome the difficulties faced by the students due to paucity of technical books in local languages.
President inaugurates education projects
Inaugurating the education projects, the President said, “These are commendable steps towards making education accessible to all.” The projects he initiated include All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) engineering books in Odia language, Odia glossary of technical terms developed by the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology and e-Kumbh portal.
Murmu hails from the state of Odisha. He said that Odia being an ancient language with distinct literary tradition and rich vocabulary, there would be no difficulty in getting technical education in this language. He said that all Indian languages have more or less equal potential and they have been given equal importance under the National Education Policy 2020. With this a new era has started in the field of Indian languages.
