Addressing the press conference, Satnam Singh Sandhu said that this global ranking has been released on the basis of academic reputation, research work, student-faculty ratio, employment, international faculty and comprehensive evaluation of students. He said that after excelling in the QS Asia Rankings, the World University Rankings (QS World University Rankings) Getting a place in Chandigarh is a big achievement of the University.
Big achievement for Chandigarh University
He said that cultural diversity is also a great achievement of the university, where apart from the international faculty, international students from more than 40 countries including students from all the states of the country, Chandigarh University (University of Chandigarh) I am studying under various courses. In Ace World Ranking, Chandigarh University is ranked 528th in International Faculty Ratio, 310th for Employment Reputation and 501st for Academic Reputation. Similarly, in terms of Faculty/Student Ratio, International Student, International Research Network and Per Faculty, the university is ranked 601st.
New education policy improved the quality of education in the country
He appreciated the efforts of the students, faculty, and other members of the University in raising the standard of education and raising Chandigarh University among the top global institutions of higher learning, and credited the outstanding performance of Indian universities in the world rankings of ‘New Education’. 41 Indian universities make it to the QS World University Rankings-2023
He said that a total of 41 Indian universities have made it to the QS World University Rankings-2023. Out of these 41 new entries have been registered, which is an increase of 20 percent over the previous year. Apart from this, 9 premier institutes of India are included in the top 1000 worldwide. He said that the credit for this goes to the visionary new education policy brought by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.
S. Sandhu further said that all the 9 Indian institutes in the top 500 have progressed rapidly in the rankings after 5 years. He said that this is happening after a gap of 10 years, when all the Indian institutions in the top 500 have recorded a record improvement in their rankings. Calling for an even better performance in the QS 2024 rankings, Sandhu emphasized the need for collaboration for research, faculty and student exchange, besides increasing collaboration in least developed countries and international research networks.
