A case of beating up of the headmaster in a government school in Karnataka has come to light. In fact, a group of people claiming to be right-wing activists entered the school and started a scuffle with the headmaster. Abdu Mufar Bijapur is serving as the headmaster in this school.
Actually, Abdu Mufar Bijapur had organized an essay competition. In this, the students had to write an essay on Prophet Muhammad. 5000 rupees were also to be given as a reward to the student who won the competition. However, the topic of the essay competition was not liked by some of the parents of the school going children. He alleged that this method of essay is being used by the headmaster to get the children converted.
Education department ordered inquiry
One of the angry parents contacted the right-wing activist group Shri Ram Sena. They said they wanted to know the motive behind the competition and accused the headmaster of “imposing Islam” on the children. At the same time, on receiving the complaint, the activists of Shri Ram Sena entered the school and then they started scuffle with their headmaster in front of about 100 students. The matter has been taken up with the education department of the state. The Education Department has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
Block education officer Virupakshaappa Naduvinamani told news agency ANI, “I will take a copy of the complaint from Sri Rama Sena. I will also take information about this matter from the headmaster of the school and the students. Earlier this year, there was a huge controversy over the hijab in schools and colleges in Karnataka. Some girl students had demanded to wear hijab. But officials said that they are not part of the uniform.
