After the letter of the Indian Army, the Punjab government has agreed to cooperate in the Agnipath Recruitment Rally. CM Bhagwant Mann has given instructions to the DCs of all the districts.

A new update has come regarding the rally to be held in Punjab regarding the Agneepath recruitment. where first in jalandhar Army Rally While no help was being received from the local administration, now Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has spoken of giving full cooperation for this recruitment rally. CM Bhagwant Mann has clarified his stand by tweeting. He said that ‘all the rallies that will be held in Punjab, full cooperation will be given from Punjab Govt and all necessary facilities will be provided’.
This reply of Punjab CM has come after the letter written by the Indian Army to the Chief Secretary of the State Government. In this letter, the army had said that if necessary cooperation is not received from the government and administration, then no army recruitment rally will be organized in Punjab from now on. These recruitments will be shifted to neighboring states.
Action will be taken if there is negligence: CM
Tweeting on the ongoing controversy regarding the organization of Agnipath Recruitment Rally 2022 in Punjab, CM Bhagwant Mann wrote that ‘DCs of all districts have been instructed to fully cooperate in the Army Recruitment Rally. Still, if there is any negligence then strict action will be taken against the culprits.
All Deputy commissioners were directed to provide complete support to Army Authorities for recruitment of Agniveers in Punjab. Any flexibility shall be viewed seriously. Every effort will be made to recruit maximum number of candidates in to army from the state. pic.twitter.com/KKDZW9OJoR

Bhagwant Mann is currently in Germany with a delegation of the Punjab Government to participate in the Investment Summit.
Will continue to oppose Agneepath scheme: Finance Minister
While CM Mann is talking about supporting the rally, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema has said that ‘we have been opposing the Agneepath scheme from the beginning and will continue to do so. But the youth of Punjab have always been serving in the army and protecting the country on the border.
On the matter of the local administration not cooperating in the rally in Jalandhar, the Finance Minister said that he was not fully aware of the matter.
