University Placement Cell (UPC), Jamia Millia Islamia JMI organized a Job cum Internship Fair “Career Connect” (Job Utsav) on 3rd and 4th May, 2023 in hybrid mode. It was organized in collaboration with Nandi Foundation and Mahindra Pride Classroom. IES New Delhi was the associate sponsor of the event.
The tremendous enthusiasm of the students regarding this job festival can be gauged from the fact that more than 2000 students from different courses have registered for this job fair.

120 students selected
During this two-day job fest, more than 120 students were selected by various companies and more than 500 students were selected for the next rounds. Stalls were also set up for resume verification and mock interviews in the fair, which saw a huge turnout of 300 students.
More than 60 renowned companies participated in the fair, including Tech Mahindra, JTEKT, Acxiom Consulting, Vserv, Maintec, The Economic Times, IB Global. The offline interview was conducted at the auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering and the office of the University Placement Cell.
The inaugural function of the fair was organized in the auditorium of Faculty of Engineering in which Jamia Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar (Padma Shri) was the chief guest. Prof. Rahela Farooqui, Director, UPC, Jamia, in her welcome address welcomed the dignitaries, HR of companies and guests and also shared the highlights of the placements of 2023 batch. Students of Faculty of Fine Arts and Hotel Management also put up their stalls in this fair.
Prof. Najma Akhtar congratulated for the efforts of organizing Job Utsav 2023. He also mentioned that Jamia always strives for the overall development of its students and has full faith in their abilities. Prof. Saba Khan, Deputy Director, UPC, JMI thanked UPC, JMI officials, university administration and students of various courses involved in organizing the job festival for making it a success.
