1132 private schools have closed in Karnataka. Not a single admission has taken place in these schools this academic year. Because of this they had to be closed.

On the other hand, if you ask any parent whether they want to send their children to private school for studies? There is every possibility that his answer will be ‘yes’. However, something different is happening in Karnataka. Here parents do not want to send their children to private schools. Actually, 1132 in the state Private Schools There are such, where not a single admission has taken place in this academic year.
According to Karnataka’s Department of School Education, out of 1132 schools, 367 are lower primary schools, 466 higher primary schools and 299 high schools have recorded zero admissions this year. According to the news of the Indian Express, according to the data presented by the state school education minister BC Nagesh during the budget session in March 2022, the enrollment in 966 private unaided schools for the academic year 2021-22 was zero. At the same time, in 2022-23, there has been an increase of 166 schools in such schools, where zero admission has been registered.
What is the reason for not getting admission?
- The reason for zero admission in most private schools has been the COVID epidemic.
- Poor education quality is also one of the reasons why children are not taking admission.
- Most of the private schools in rural areas have not got admission due to lack of good teachers.

It is worth noting here that this year, not a single admission has taken place in 523 government schools and 176 government aided schools. In this way, there have been at least 1831 schools in Karnataka where children have not taken admission in the academic year 2022-23. It is also known through the data that there are 745 pre-university colleges where not a single admission has taken place this academic year.
However, due to the betterment of government schools in some areas, private schools have also been closed. Belagavi is one such area, about which the officials said that due to the government schools having good facilities, children of private schools are taking admission here.
