Tata Group and Rolls Royce
There is going to be massive layoffs in British company Rolls-Royce. The company is re-structuring its jet engine business, because the company is facing a lot of difficulties since Covid. However, this has raised a big question whether this retrenchment will affect the delivery of work of Tata Group?
After Covid-19, air traffic was disrupted worldwide. Because of this the company had to face reduction in demand. Now the board of the company has made a plan for re-structuring. Rolls-Royce supplies jet engines on a large scale to airplane manufacturing company Boeing.
Rolls Royce has so many employees in total
Rolls-Royce, headquartered in Derby, Britain, is going to lay off 2500 employees across the world. However, the company has not made it clear how many employees will be laid off at which place. According to agency news, Rolls-Royce has 42,000 employees worldwide. About half of these are in Britain only.

Regarding this whole incident, the company’s new CEO Tufan Erginbilgich says that the company is remaking itself, which will be fully prepared for the future. This transformation will take place for many years. Earlier in 2020, the company had laid off 9,000 people globally. At that time air traffic had completely stopped worldwide. The company says that this layoff will help it reduce its costs, as well as help reduce supply chain delays.
Connection to Tata work?
After this layoff, the question arises whether this will delay the work of Tata. Actually, Tata Group has ordered 470 new aircraft for the expansion of Air India. Boeing is going to supply about half of these planes. Boeing supplies engines from only two companies. One of them is GE and the other is Rolls Royce. Now it remains to be seen whether this retrenchment affects the delivery of aircraft to Tata. However, nothing has been officially said by both the companies regarding this.
